Disaffiliation Information

St. Timothy has voted to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church by a 92% majority.

858 ballots were submitted.
The tally was 789-yes and 69-no.

A Special Session of the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church has voted by 93% in favor of accepting and approving the disaffiliation of St. Timothy and 57 additional churches from the UMC. This is in addition to the 10 local churches that already disaffiliated in June.

A “pause” has been announced in disaffiliation meetings and discussion through the end of this year. However, this does not impact St. Timothy because we are beyond this phase of the process. Further, it is anticipated that as many as 50 – 100 more UM churches will enter the disaffiliation process at the beginning of the New Year.
